Lenovo just launched a new gaming laptop in Malaysia, the Legion Y530. Customisable with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU and a 144Hz display, the Y530 is quite an interesting entry-level gaming laptop.
There are two variants of the Legion Y530 in Malaysia. The base model, which retails at RM3,599, offers a 15.6-inch 1080p anti-glare IPS display, an Intel Core i5-8300H processor paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a GTX 1050 GPU with 2GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB 5,400RPM HDD.
If you want something more powerful, there’s the higher-end Y530 with a faster Core i7-8750H processor, double the RAM at 16GB, a GTX 1050 with 4GB of DDR5 memory, and a 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD. If you want the 144Hz display, you’ll have to upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1050 Ti, which costs RM160. The 144Hz screen upgrade itself, on the other hand, will cost you RM294.
Beyond the Legion Y530’s hardware, what differentiates it from most gaming laptops in this price range is its display. Sporting minimal bezels, it gives the laptop a pretty sleek design. Of course, this also makes it slightly more portable than your conventional 15.6-inch gaming laptop.
The Lenovo Legion Y530 is now available in Malaysia from RM3,599, and you can customise the laptop’s hardware to your liking on Lenovo’s online store. On top of that, you can also use the discount code AUG18 to get an additional RM200 off. More information on the Legion Y530 can be found here.
