Not too long ago, it was discovered that Samsung may have an Android Go device called the Galaxy J2 Core coming to the market. Acccording to The Verge, the device is already available.
We’ve seen from the previous discovery on GeekBench that the phone is question uses a quad-core processor, which could be the Exynos 7570, and what looks like 1GB of RAM. The Verge has obtained more details on the spec sheet, which includes a 960 x 540 LCD display, a 2600mAh battery, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera and 8GB of internal storage. It should be noted that the version of Android Go that comes with the device is also based off Android 8.1 Oreo, and not 9.0 Pie.
From these specs, it’s easy to tell you won’t be doing anything much beyond basic functionalities like web browsing or maybe video streaming. On the flip side, it doesn’t hit the four-figure mark as well in terms of price.
As for local availability, Amanz has received official word from Samsung that it will be available starting this week. It will be accompanied by a RM379 price tag.
