Thanks to recent set of leaks, we now know how the Huawei Mate 20 camera arrangement might be like. The back was photographed recently, and it shows the triple-camera arrangement will be a 2×2 grid instead in a straight line.
Huawei looks to carry over similar sensor tech from the P20 Pro, but will have the sensor clustered at the middle of the back rather than along one side. Exact details regarding these cameras are not yet known at the moment but there is always a possibility that they follow the same setup as P20 Pro which offers individual high-resolution sensor, monochrome sensor, and telephoto sensor.
What is also interesting is the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner right below the camera module, reminiscent of the Mate 9 series. This somewhat dispels the previous leak of the in-screen camera but we will not be surprised if it appeared on other future models from Huawei.
The image above confirmed an earlier set of leaked info which also suggested that the Mate 20 series will feature display notch in the shape of water drop. This is something that we have seen recently with the newly released OPPO F9.
XDA-Developers who managed to obtain the leaked info as well as view photographs of the device itself have released several renders to represent those info which include the positions of speakers as well as audio and USB ports:
The launch event for the Mate 20 is expected to happen sometime in October, so we should be seeing more information on the Kirin 980-powered Huawei Mate 20 family along the way. So stay tuned for more information soon.
