Aside from unveiling its latest high speed fibre broadband plans, Maxis also confirmed something particularly interesting. Turns out, the telco company is planning to offer broadband plans with up to 800Mbps speed in the future.
Maxis revealed this bit of info in the webpage for the new fibre broadband plans. In the FAQ section, Maxis wrote that it will offer “higher download speeds of 300/500/800Mbps” once the infrastructure is ready. Of course, no tentative date was given, and Maxis simply said to “stay tuned for the latest updates.”
On top of that, the company also said that these speed upgrades will be made available to all existing customers both in and out of contract.
Maxis’ new fibre broadband plans.
This is definitely good news for those who have been wanting for higher broadband speeds. Now that Maxis is offering up to 100Mbps speed for only RM129, there’s a very good chance the company’s upcoming 300Mbps and 500Mbps broadband plans will be priced competitively too.
Nonetheless, we can only wait for Maxis to reveal more information regarding these high speed broadband plans in the future. For the time being, we’ll have to make do with its new plans here.
Update 20 August, 10:10PM: Maxis has revised the FAQ section with new speeds – it was previously stated to be up to 500Mbps only. The article has been updated to reflect this.
