Given the rampant rumors, NVIDIA looks set to unveil the next generation GeForce graphics cards just before Gamescom. Meanwhile, the internet is still trying to figure out what will the next top-of-the-line card will be called, since it will succeed the GeForce GTX 10 series which was first released in 2016.
To keep interest and speculation wild, the green graphics company released a teaser. If you read into the hints, it may suggest that the next batch of cards will be called GeForce RTX instead of GTX, much like the newly announced Quadro RTX cards for the professional market.
As spotted by VideoCardz.com, it’s full of references references to ’20’ and ‘not 11’, which suggests that the next generation of cards will be called 20 series instead of 11 series.
Of the entirety of the video, the two chatlogs are the most suggestive, with the names RoyTeX and Not_11 suggesting RTX and, well, not 11 series. Not_11 then proceeds to day “gimme 20.” Then there’s the conversation between Mac-20 and Eight Tee. Put them together and we pretty much get the RTX 2080.
If all the hints above are true, then we should expect to see the new card next week. Until then, let the speculations run wild.
