According to the official announcement made by the company few weeks ago, TM will be rolling out the much anticipated unifi Turbo speed upgrade starting from tomorrow, 15 August. As the upgrade is being done by stages, some readers out there might be wondering how to tell if TM has actually applied the upgrade on their premise.
Well, check this out: a number of users have apparently received their unifi Turbo upgrade much earlier that what TM has announced. Some of them have since posted their speed test results online including on Lowyat.NET Forums:
Aside from the results by speed test applications, another sign that you have received unifi Turbo is through the status of your unifi account. This is something that you can check through unifi’s official website provided that your have registered yourself at that site.
Once you already registered which also simultaneously set you up to receive the e-Bill, you are also able to see your account status through the care@unifi mobile apps. Once unifi Turbo upgrade has been applied to your account, it status will change to a new name which includes the new speed and the “Turbo Upgrade 2018” label.
Citing insider information, Lowyat.NET Forumers nikrizal also pointed out that users might receive an SMS once the upgrade is ready for their account. In the SMS, they will be asked to restart their network equipment for 10 minutes in order for the upgrade to take place.
Despite the signs above, we do recommend you to manage your expectation for the upcoming unifi Turbo upgrade though. Given the scale and amount of unifi customers that TM have, it might take quite a while before the company is able to complete the roll out for unifi Turbo which apparently will last until the middle of 2019.
