Poco is an upcoming sub-brand under Xiaomi, and it seems like the brand is ready to unveil its first-ever smartphone. Dubbed the Poco F1, the (alleged) flagship smartphone will be officially introduced as early as next week – it may very well be coming to Malaysia as well.
Announced officially on its Twitter account, the Poco F1 will be making its debut in India on 22 August. Teased to be the “master of speed,” the F1 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s best chipset yet: the Snapdragon 845. On top of that, it’s also believed to be packing a water-cooling system.
Besides that, we also spotted the Poco F1 in SIRIM’s database. Registered under Xiaomi Malaysia with the model number M1805E10A, the device has been in the certification body’s database since 8 August. Hopefully, this means that the Poco F1 will be available right here in Malaysia too.
Oddly enough, even though the Poco F1 is not official yet, there’s already an unboxing video of the phone that looks pretty legitimate. Looking at the video, it appears the device sports a plastic body, and it appears to be running on Xiaomi’s MIUI software.
Xiaomi products are priced very competitively, and this should be the same for the Poco F1. We’ll find out exactly how much the flagship phone will cost come 22 August next week.
