Recent speculations on the internet suggest that Sony’s yet-to-be released Xperia XZ3 smartphone could very possibly be outfitted with a new 48MP sensor. However, a new leak is now suggesting that the phone will instead be showing a dual camera setup for its main array.
The leak stems from an alleged specs sheet of the Xperia XZ3 that was first posted by Japanese tech site sumahoinfo. According to the list, the dual camera setup comprises 19MP f/1.8 + 12MP f/1.6 sensors, with a 25mm and 22mm field of views, respectively. On top of that, the front-facing camera now sports a 13MP sensor instead of the 5MP shooter that’s currently used in the Xperia XZ2.
The other listed specs are more or less similar to the Xperia XZ2; the phone still sports a 5.7″ Full HD+ display and a Snapdragon 845 SoC, while the RAM has increased from 4GB to 6GB, and its will also have a 128GB internal storage configuration option.
At the time of writing, Sony has yet to release any official statement about the phone, but considering that IFA 2018 is happening next month, it wouldn’t surprise us if the Xperia XZ3 does end up being announced there.
