Alongside the immediate discontinuation of SmartTAG, Touch ‘n Go (TnG) has also revealed that the company will begin the public test of RFID sticker starting from 3 September 2018. However, this doesn’t mean that users are able to obtain the stickers at TnG premise immediately.
According to the company, members of the public first need to register their interest in order to become one of the first RFID users through TnG’s official website. Details regarding the sticker itself will only be provided later on.
While TnG will not charged the pilot testers for the RFID sticker, they still need to fork their money to pay tolls. The sticker used funds from TnG eWallet app in order to perform toll payments.
The FAQ document on TnG website started that the RFID sticker can be placed on vehicle’s windscreen or headlight although the implementation can only be performed at an authorized installation center for the time being. Each sticker can be registered with only one vehicle.
