The Motorola Z3 may have been out in the market for the last couple of months, but that doesn’t mean the company has stopped the development of its detachable Moto Mods. Recently, the company worked together with Qualcomm Technologies to release the 5G Moto Mod.
The 5G Moto Mod was mainly designed for Moto Z3 users in the US to take full advantage of US carrier Verizon’s upcoming 5G mobile network. In terms of specifications, the 5G Moto Mod comprises Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 5G and X24 LTE modems, along with the company’s QTM052 mmWave antenna modules.
Like all Moto Mods, the 5G Moto Mod is designed to easily be attached to the back of the Moto Z3. Once attached, users will automatically gain access to the aforementioned features.
The 5G Moto Mod is also designed to support the 5G NR standard; a standard that Qualcomm describes as the “true standard for 5G”. At the time of writing, Motorola hasn’t mentioned if it would be bringing the 5G Moto Mod into the Malaysian market.
