As per past experiences, Apple is expected to launch its new smartphone sometime this year, and one of the rumored options will be a 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus model. With the extra screen real-estate, it seems that the model might be featuring a new iPad-like landscape mode to display more information on the screen.
Thanks to the latest iOS 12 Beta release, screenshots on how the new landscape mode will work with supported apps are now out in the open. Taken using emulators running the latest iOS 12 beta, we can now see how different apps function on the larger iPhone X.
As you can see above, native apps such as Messages and Calendar could be featuring the dual-pane design seen on iPads. In Messenger, the left pane will show the conversations while on the right will have the content of each conversation. The dual-pane display should extend and increase productivity while on the go, especially while multitasking.
The same beta software has also confirmed that the new iPhone X Plus screen will have a resolution of 1242 x 2688. This is equal to 455 pixels per inch, which is not far off from the 5.7-inch 2017 iPhone X.
We shall know more of the new device come this September which is the rumoured launch period for the 2018 iPhone lineup.
