As promised, Microsoft has revealed the pricing of the budget-minded Microsoft Surface Go in Malaysia. Set to retail from only RM1,749, the Surface Go is one of the most affordable Windows 10 tablets in the market now.
There are two variants of the Surface Go in Malaysia: the RM1,749 base model comes with a 64GB eMMC storage with 4GB of RAM, while the higher-end RM2,399 variant is equipped with a 128GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. Needless to say, we imagine most consumers will want the more practical 128GB model.
Storage and RAM capacities aside, these two variants of the Surface Go are identical to each other. Both models come with 10-inch 1800 x 1200 3:2 aspect ratio displays – ideal for productivity tasks – Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processors, Microsoft’s signature kickstand with unlimited positions, as well as 5MP front-facing cameras with support for Windows Hello.
Other specifications of the Surface Go include an 8MP rear camera, a microSD card reader, a USB-C 3.1 port, and Windows 10 Pro out of the box. Like with Microsoft’s other Surface tablets, the Surface Go does not come with the Type Cover keyboard – that will set you back RM399 for the Black option. If you want the Blue, Silver, or Burgundy Red Type Cover instead, that will cost you RM549 – quite a hefty price tag.
Aside from that, the Surface Pen and Surface Mobile Mouse retail at RM281 and RM178 respectively.
The Microsoft Surface Go and its accompanying accessories are now available for pre-order in Malaysia on Microsoft’s official Lazada store. At the time of writing, Microsoft has not revealed the tablet’s shipping date yet.
