Canon has just announced its latest super-zoom compact camera, the Powershot SX740 HS. Despite its compact physique, the company manged to fit a 40x optical zoom lens into it.
Specifically, the lens has a focal length that equivalent to 24-960mm together with variable aperture of f/3.3 to f/6.9. Alongside the super zoom lens, the SX740 also comes with a 20-megapixels 1/2.3″ BSI-CMOS sensor.
In addition to DIGIC 8 image processor and 4K video recording capability, the SX740 HS is also able to perform 7.4fps burst shots with continues autofocus. Other than that, the camera also comes with a 3-inch flip-up screen (sadly without touch), WiFi, and Bluetooth.
Canon will be shipping the Powershot SX740 from August in black and silver with a price tag of US$399 (about RM 1,620). However, there is no indication at the moment for how soon we will be able to see this model in Malaysia.
