Thanks to a merchandise catalogue from a UK reseller, we now know that DJI is set to release two new drones in the near future. The DJI Mavic 2 will be available in two models – a Zoom model for the masses and a Pro model for professionals.
Design of the upcoming drones looks to be carry-over from the original Mavic. The DJI Mavic 2 Zoom will be the standard model, but it will have a 2x optical zoom lens on board. Meanwhile, professionals can look forward to the DJI Mavic 2 Pro which will have Hasselblad-design optics, as well as a larger 1-inch sensor on board.

Shared features of the two models include 360-degree collision awareness system, a top speed of over 70 KM/h, and a long 31-minute flight time. In the catalogue, there is no mention of the recording capabilities, though we would not rule out 4K recording features. It can, however, transmit 1080p footage up to 8Km away to the pilot on the ground.
No dates have been shared for the launch of the Mavic 2 line-up, but prices for the Zoom and Pro is expected to start from RM 3,999 – the current price of a Mavic Pro. We will be waiting for more details on the new drones from DJI when it is made available online so stay tuned.
