Xiaomi wrapped up the global launch of its Mi A2 by also announcing two Mi Robot Builder sets. These appear to be DIY robotics kits, each allowing the customer to construct a smartphone controlled robot.
The Mi Robot Builder can be built into either a tracked robot, plane, or dinosaur. While a separate Mi Robot Builder Rover kit builds something that looks like a tracked robot straight out of anime.
Few details are available for what is in the kits, but the announcement indicates there are at least several motors, servos, and some sort of wireless connectivity option.
It’s impossible to tell for sure, but the Mi Robot Builder and Mi Robot Builder Rover sets look suspiciously like knockoff Lego kits. This is not to say that this is a bad thing, since the 79.99 euro (RM380) price tag actually makes them reasonably affordable.
