It appears the recently announced Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will be coming to Malaysia. So far, the new phablet was only announced for the Chinese market. If the Mi Max 3 does make it here in the near future, Malaysia will be one of the first countries to receive the device – that’s quite a big deal.
In our routine search of SIRIM’s database, Xiaomi Malaysia registered a device with the model number M1804E4A just yesterday on 19 July. Of course, this is none other than the Mi Max 3, and it appeared in SIRIM’s database on the same day it was announced in China.
The Mi Max 3, much like its predecessor, features a large display and battery capacity. Now sporting a huge 6.9-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display, the phablet also comes with a sizeable 5,500mAh battery. Like most mid-range Xiaomi phones this year, the Mi Max 3 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 chipset too.
Rounding out the specifications of the Mi Max 3 are 4GB or 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of expandable storage, a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera system, and an 8MP front-facing shooter.
For the time being, it’s not known yet exactly when – or if – the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will be arriving in Malaysia. Considering the fact that even the Mi 6X and Mi A2 Lite have been registered with SIRIM too, there’s a good chance these three devices will be launched simultaneously on our shores.
