While HMD Global might have not made publicize this at the moment but it is generally known that the company has the intention to bring Nokia X6 to markets outside of China. As it turns out, Hong Kong become the first such market and the phone has also received a new name: Nokia 6.1 Plus.
Aside from the name, the phone also comes with Android One label on it although the version in China already pre-installed with stock Android Oreo anyway. Other than that, it is pretty much the same Nokia X6 that the company released over there back in May.
You are still looking at a phone with a notched 5.8-inch Full HD+ display and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636. For the Hong Kong market, the model comes standard with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB e-MMC internal storage.
Featuring a combination of glass body and aluminum frame, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is also equipped with 16MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup and 16MP selfie camera although surprisingly, none of these cameras are Zeiss branded as opposed to the standard version of Nokia 6.1. A 3060mAh battery with support for quick charging completes its general specifications.
In Hong Kong, the Nokia 6.1 Plus carries a price tag of HKD 2288 (about RM 1185) and will be made available on sale over there starting from 24 July onwards. No words on when the phone will be making its debut in our shores but given that HMD Global has just released Nokia 6.1 in Malaysia, it might take a while before we see the phone here.
