TM has previously stated that it will reduce the connection speed of unifi Basic 30Mbps plan once subscribers hit the plan’s 60GB quota per month. However, the exact throttled speed was not included in the plan’s FAQ when the company updated unifi’s official website last weekend.
Earlier today though, the said FAQ document has finally been updated to include the actual figure. As it turns out, the connection speed will be reduced all the way down to 128kbps after the 60GB quota is fully utilized by unifi Basic 30Mbps subscribers.
As mentioned previously, TM is not offering any data add-ons for unifi Basic plan at the moment. In other words, you are pretty much stuck with slow Internet connection once you used all of your data allocation under the unifi Basic plan.
Hence, the company recommends heavy data users to consider unifi Lite or unifi Advance instead which offer unlimited data and will become even faster once the unifi Turbo speed upgrade is implemented.
