TM has updated the official website for unifi with a new section for the new unifi Basic 30Mbps plan; just like what TM has promised during its media briefing earlier this week. With that, we now finally able to dive slightly deeper into the plan.
As mentioned before, unifi Basic plan is meant for household with monthly income of RM 4,500 and below. Priced at RM 79 per month, it offers download and upload speed of 30Mbps and 10Mbps respectively alongside 60GB of monthly data quota.
According to the FAQ and TnC documents for the unifi Basic plan which are available unifi’s official website, applicants must be 18 years and above. To proof their monthly income, TM requires applicants to submit a copy of their latest pay slip or supporting documents from local authorities if they are self-employed.
Other than that, the company also accepts a copy of BRIM acceptance letter as proof of income. The submission need to be done via e-mail after applicants have submitted their pre-order form to TM.
While TM has previously stated that it will provide add-on option for those who exhausted their unifi Basic data allocation before their next bill cycle, the FAQ document on the website said that such add-on will not be offered at the moment. In addition to that, their connection speed will be throttled as well although TM didn’t specify the actual throttled speed in the FAQ document.
The website further stated that the unifi Basic plan comes with 24-months of contract. While the plan does not include unifi TV set top box, subscribers will still receive access to playTV@unifi app although the number of channels that they able to watch through the app is limited to mainly free-to-air, shopping, and selected news channels.
Do note that the unifi Basic plan comes with a 24-months contract which is the standard contract period for unifi plans. For the detailed instructions on how to apply unifi Basic, head on to unifi’s official website.
