This is a first: Huawei Malaysia just announced that it will be launching the new Huawei Nova 3 smartphone on our shores as early as next week. It’s quite an odd announcement considering the fact that the Nova 3…hasn’t even been made official yet.
Nonetheless, Huawei said that it will be unveiling “the next Nova series” next week, so chances are, it will be the new Nova 3. Set to be officially introduced on 18 July, Huawei Malaysia will launch the new phone on 19 July – that’s only one day after the global unveiling of the Nova 3. That’s quite impressive.
In terms of hardware, the Nova 3 is quite a unique mid-range smartphone. Despite its positioning, it’s powered by Huawei’s flagship Kirin 970 chipset; the very same SoC found in the higher end P20 Pro and Mate 10 Pro. Aside from that, it also sports a gradient glass back, which looks pretty mesmerising.
Other specifications of the Nova 3 include a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, a 3,750mAh battery, and GPU Turbo support right out of the box. It also features a 16MP RGB + 24MP monochrome dual-camera sensor on the back, and two front-facing cameras made up of 24MP and 2MP sensors.
The Huawei Nova 3 is expected to be unveiled globally on 18 July, and it will be landing in Malaysia the very next day on 19 July. Considering the Nova 3’s high-end hardware – especially for a “mid-range” phone – it will be interesting to see how much Huawei Malaysia will price the phone at.
