In addition to unifi Basic and unifi Turbo speed upgrade, TM has also discussed its plan for customers that are still on Streamyx which is also known as the pre-unifi service. For such customers that live in areas that not included within unifi coverage, they will receive speed upgrade.
Specifically, TM stated that these customers will receive double the speed of their existing Streamyx plans. While it didn’t specify the actual speed upgrade exercise will begin, the company revealed that more than 350,000 Streamyx customers will receive the upgrade soon.
For more than 340,000 Streamyx customers that are already within the unifi area, they will be offered upgrade to unifi packages instead. No details were mentioned but according to Imri Mokhtar, the Executive Vice President for unifi, TM will offer these customers unifi packages with pricing that are close to what they are paying for their Streamyx packages at the moment.
For those who already on the fastest Streamyx tier which is 8Mbps or reside in areas where upgrade for fixed line proved to be difficult, they might be offered the unifi Wireless plan instead. That being said though, Imri pointed out that Streamyx customers can check out unifi’s official website on 15 July to see the exact upgrade options that are available for them.
