It seems like Xiaomi is preparing to launch a bunch of new products in Malaysia. These include the yet to be announced Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, the Mijia 4K Action Camera, and the Mi Smart Scale 2.
While looking through SIRIM’s database, we noticed that Era International – Xiaomi’s authorised distributor in Malaysia – registered quite a number of Xiaomi products with the certification body. All of the items shown below are the aforementioned products, and even the 2017 Mi Rice Cooker is in the database.
Out of the four products, the unannounced Mi A2 Lite is the most interesting one. It’s believed to be packing a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display – with a notch at the top, unsurprisingly – an unspecified octa-core 2.0GHz processor, up to 4GB of RAM, three storage options (16GB, 32GB and 64GB), and a rear fingerprint sensor.
Aside from the Mi A2 Lite, the other products are pretty interesting too – especially the Mijia 4K Action Camera. As its name suggests, this compact action camera can record 4K videos at 30fps; it can also shoot at up to 240fps at 720p.
At the moment, it remains to be seen when Xiaomi plans to sell these products in Malaysia – assuming the company is planning to do so, of course. But considering the fact that Xiaomi is opening more physical stores in Malaysia, it’s only natural for the company to bring in even more of its products onto our shores.
