Besides keyboards, mice, and speakers, Leapfrog Distribution Sdn Bhd took some time during its Megatrends 2018 event to announce that it would be the sole distributor for Thronmax, a Shenzhen-based company that specialises in manufacturing gaming and podcast-grade standalone streaming microphones.
The brand has a total of three main products: the MDrill One Pro, Mdrill Zero, and Mdrill Dome. The MDrill One Pro is the hero product of the trio. It comes with Thronmax’s Vertigain technology, which increases overall recording and streaming quality by 10%.
It can also record audio in five different recording patterns: Cardioid, Stereo, Bi-directional, Omni-directional, and Noise Reduction. Unlike the others, it also has a built-in LED indicator at the base of it, as well as ambient noise cancellation.
The MDrill Zero and MDrill Dome also share some of the same features, albeit not all of them. The MDrill Zero is the only model to retain the Vertigain technology and ambient noise cancellation, and both models only have access to two recording patterns, Cardioid, and Omni-directional.
Besides those differences is features, all three models are capable of recording at 48KHz, 16-bit, and come with USB Type-C attachment to power them up.
At the time of writing, Leapfrog said that they intend to bring the microphones into Malaysia by the end of August, and their official SRP is expected to start from RM239 upwards.
