As promised, TM today has officially unveiled more information regarding their upcoming unifi plans including the new entry-level unifi Basic plan. It will provide 30Mbps speed for RM 79 monthly fee and 60GB quota.
As compared to standard unifi plans, the new unifi Basic is a stand-alone Internet plan which means that it doesn’t come with unifi TV and IP-based phone. While it might come with 60GB quota, users can obtain additional data if they need more although TM didn’t specify the price of the additional data.
Made for households with income of RM 4,500 and below, this plan will be made available exclusively through unifi’s official website (site not yet online at the moment). Not only that, customers will be required to provide some sort of documents in order to support their eligibility for the new plan.
While the need to provide verification is a rather odd inclusion, Imri Mokhtar, the Executive Vice President of unifi stated that it is nothing new since such requirement has existed for some of TM’s previous offerings including the Streamyx Netbook Package in 2010.
However, Imri didn’t specify the exact documents that customers need to include with their application. Nevertheless, customers will be able to find out the exact requirements once TM opens the pre-order for unifi Basic plan on 15 July 2018 ahead of its official roll-out on 15 August 2018.
