The Malaysian-based on-demand and live video streaming provider iflix today has revealed that the free version of its service is now available for our market. Called iflix Free, it allows viewers to enjoy certain contents without any subscription.
As the announcement was made through its social media channels rather than official release to the media, details regarding iflix Free is rather scarce at the moment. Nevertheless, the FAQ on iflix website has confirmed the existence of the free version although we actually obtained the basic detail regarding iflix Free modus operandi from iflix Indonesia.
At the same time, it also appears that certain contents on iflix now have now come with presenting sponsors. This is in line with the company’s plan to support the free version of its service through advertisement.
Meanwhile, the paid tier for the service is now known as iflix VIP and continues to offer unlimited access to its contents for RM 10 per month or RM 96 a year for those who prefer to pay the subscription in one go.
