From their global unveiling in New York, some of Acer’s newly announced gaming desktops are now on their way to Malaysia. These new systems which include the Predator Orion 5000 and Nitro 50 were officially launched at the Acer Predator roadshow in Sunway Pyramid yesterday.
In general, the Orion 5000 gaming desktop is the smaller sized sibling of the monstrous Orion 9000 gaming desktop that was released in Malaysia last year. This doesn’t mean the system is not powerful enough though since the new desktop still carries plenty of beefy hardware in its EMI Compliant chassis that is designed to reduce electromagnetic interference.
Among components that are included inside Orion 5000 are Intel Core i7-8700 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics, 16GB DDR RAM, 256GB PCIe M.2 solid state drive, and 1TB hard drive. To help cool these components down, Acer has implemented a dedicated airflow management design within the Orion 5000’s chassis.
As for Nitro 50, it is a much down-to-earth gaming system as compared to its Predator siblings. Featuring a less flashy chassis that still has a little bit of gamer-like identity on it, this particular model also comes with Intel Core i7-8700 processor and 1TB hard drive although it is accompanied by 8GB of DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5 graphics, and 128GB solid state drive.
Price-wise, the Predator Orion 5000 can be obtained for RM 7899 when it is made available in the middle of July while the Nitro 50 will be released slightly later in the same month for RM 4239. Both models will be on sale through all Acer Official Online Stores as well as authorized resellers throughout Malaysia.
