E3 2018 is in full swing, and arguably one of the most exciting trailers is here. Of course, it’s none other than The Last of Us Part II’s gameplay trailer, and it’s as brutal as ever.
Ellie – now 19 – is set to be the main protagonist in the second instalment of the game. The gameplay trailer starts off with a relatively peaceful scene, and it shows Ellie interacting with a couple of new characters. That didn’t last long though: the trailer then cut off to her brutally stabbing a guy in the neck.
The rest of the gameplay video shows just how dynamic the combat system is like in the upcoming game. On top of that, enemies appear to be more coordinated now, and Naughty Dog’s overhauled engine looks amazing. Ellie’s facial expressions, movements, and even the environment are very well done. Oddly enough, Joel – the previous game’s protagonist – has not appeared in the game yet.
Unfortunately, there’s still no release date for The Last of Us Part II. Hopefully, it’s not too far off – it’s almost been two years since the game was first announced.
