Capcom has finally revealed its newest game called Devil May Cry 5. This is the company’s fifth installation in the well-known video game series. Interestingly, the last ‘true’ Devil May Cry game was released over 10 years ago (Devil May Cry 4). Capcom mentioned that Devil May Cry 5 is a direct sequel to Devil May Cry 4.
The announcement of Devil May Cry 5 was made during Microsoft’s E3 2018 keynote via a lively, action-packed trailer. The trailer showcased Nero and Dante, both of whom are main protagonist in the Devil May Cry series, along with an unnamed mechanic companion. For those who are wondering, the game is directed by Hideaki Itsuno, who has worked on other Devil May Cry games in the series as well.
It’s still unknown whether Devil May Cry 5 will be an Xbox exclusive—though this seems unlikely. The game was introduced on stage by Microsoft as being a “world premier” instead of an exclusive. Knowing this, the game may still be released on both PS4 and PC as well. Either way, Devil May Cry 5 is slated for launch sometime in Spring 2019. Hopefully the game doesn’t get delayed… like what happened to Kingdom Hearts III.
