Besides MSI’s ultra thin gaming notebooks, it also showcased the new PS42 Prestige; its ultra thin and stylish lightweight notebook. The PS42 Prestige is a notebook that is designed not so much for the gamer, but more for the consumer in the professional workforce.
The packaging of the PS42 Prestige is quite grand. The notebook comes packaged inside a white wooden box with MSI’s logo emblazoned on the top, and the word “Prestige” on the side of the lid. Keeping with the theme, the PS42 Prestige also has a notebook sleeve that feels rather luxurious to the touch.
The PS42 Prestige is also pretty light. It only weighs in at 1.19kg, and has a thickness of just 15.9mm. Specs-wise, PS42 Prestige is no slouch. The top of the line configuration houses an Intel 8th-gen Core i7 CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 with 2GB GDDR5 memory, and a battery that guarantees up to 10 hours of continuous use. To keep the notebook cool, MSI installed its own Cooler Boost 3 into the notebook; the very same cooling solution used in its gaming notebooks.
The PS42 Prestige’s display is a thin bezel, 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS panel. For graphics designers and video editors, the notebook can also be fitted with MSI’s True Colour 2.0, which calibrates the display’s colour reproduction to as close to 100% the sRGB standard.
At the time of writing, MSI did not specify if and when the PS42 Prestige will be arriving in Malaysia, nor did the provide an official SRP for it.
