On the back of Qualcomm’s recently announcement of the Snapdragon 850, the rumour mill for the chipset manufacturer is full steam ahead. In a brief tweet, Roland Quandt of WinFuture revealed that there may be two new chipsets, aiming to launch with Android GO devices.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 and 439 incoming. Aimed at Android GO devices, but not exclusive to these. No idea what the 429 is, yet, but the 439 is a variant of the MSM8953 aka Snapdragon 625 = octacore ARM Cortex-A53, 14nm. No clue about speeds/other specs.

The rumoured Snapdragon 429 and 439 are said to fill in the gap for devices that have no need for mid- to high-end chipsets, such as the Snapdragon 845 or 636. No official announcement yet regarding these two new chipsets, but Quandt claims that the Snapdragon 439 is a variant of the Snapdragon 625 (MSM8953), which features the 14 nm manufacturing technology, as well as the Octa Core ARM Cortext-A53 processor.
While the two new variants will make their way into Android GO devices, they will not be exclusively available just in these devices, he says. There may be a chance that they will be used within regular Android builds as well.
