There were persistent rumors regarding this particular graphics card since few months ago but as promised by PowerColor last month, the wait is finally over. During AMD’s Computex 2018 press conference earlier today, the company has announced the new PowerColor Radeon RX Vega 56 Nano graphics card is now available for sale.
Many thought that the card might be a vaporware as there were almost no news regarding Radeon RX Vega Nano after the appearance at SIGGRAPH 2017. However, do note that the new card from PowerColor looks totally different from the version that was shown by AMD last year.
For example, the thermal shroud on the PowerColor card is made of black plastic instead of chrome finish. At the same time, the card is also equipped with a combination of 6-pin and 8-pin power connectors as opposed to the single 8-pin connector that appeared on the card at SIGGRAPH.
In terms of specifications, the Nano card is no different from a normal-sized Radeon RX Vega 56 which comes with 8GB of HBM2 memory running at 800MHz clock speed. At the same time, the GPU itself has a base clock speed of 1156MHz and boost clock speed of 1471MHz.
However, the availability and pricing for the PowerColor Radeon RX Vega 56 Nano graphics card for Malaysia is not yet known at the moment. We’ll keep you posted once we heard more regarding the card from the folks at AMD or PowerColor.
