Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, has said that his company’s next-generation GeForce GTX GPUs won’t be arriving for anytime soon. This took place during a Q&A session that took place after his presentation at NVIDIA’s pre-Computex 2018 conference.
Specifically, a reporter had asked Jen-Hsun if and when the launch of his next generation GPUs would be happening, to which Jen-Hsun simply told him: “it’s a long time from now.” While it may seem that the CEO for NVIDIA was sticking to his company’s long-standing policy of not talking about “unfinished or unreleased products,” his answer was actually something of a mixed bag.
This was because when other reporters tried to dig for more details, Jen-Hsun then hinted at an event that would be “happening soon“. However, he stopped short of providing any further details right after that.
Rumours of NVIDIA’s next generation GeForce GPUs have suggested that the company would announce the new GTX 11 series before the third quarter of this year. Specifically, reports suggests that an announcement will be made in July this year, while one report suggests a launch on 15 June 2018 which is the week after Computex 2018.
