Besides its ROG Phone, ASUS also announced a whole bunch of other products at Computex 2018. Among those in the the list are the ROG Balteus Qi mousepad and ROG Gladius II Wireless gaming mouse.
As its namesake suggest, the Balteus Qi is a mouse pad with the Qi wireless standard built into it. The design of the pad is pretty unassuming; it features a simple and clean slate design, with the hub situated at the top left of the pad. That hub powers up the pad’s built-in Aura Sync RGB lighting, which glows just beneath it.
In regards to the wireless charging, it should be pointed out that the feature is only isolated to the top right corner. On top of that, it the Qi wireless standard in the Balteus Qi only supports the standard charging speeds and not fast wireless charging.
On a side note, it should be pointed out that there is a non-Qi variant of the Balteus, if all you really want is the hard-type surface and ASUS’ Aura Sync RGB built into it.
Besides the Balteus Qi, there was also the Gladius II Wireless gaming mouse which was adapted from the ROG Gladius II wired gaming mouse. It comes with two connectivity options: its own 1ms 2.4GHz RF receiver or Bluetooth.
In terms of performance, the mouse uses an optical sensor from Pixart which offers maximum DPI and IPS rating of 16,000 and 4,000 respectively. Additionally, the mouse also features customizable Aura Sync RGB lighting alongside Omron switches that apparently able to withstand up to 50 million clicks.
At the time of writing, ASUS did not specify an official price for both the Balteus Qi or Gladius II. However, given the popularity of ASUS’ ROG products in Malaysia, it’s highly likely that we’ll be seeing them on the shelves in the immediate future.
