A filing with the Taiwanese certification body, NCC, has revealed the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star. It features an Infinity Display, along with an interesting placement for the rear dual camera module.
Samsung appears to be trying a new configuration on the back, with the dual cameras located offset from the middle – and sitting much closer to the edge. This is a break from the usual Samsung design language. But is perhaps due to the Galaxy A9 Star being more limited in release.
On the front, is a 6.28-inch Infinity Display with a reported Full HD+ resolution.
We do not have any clue what is inside the phone, but as the A-series has traditionally been Samsung’s mid-range line, we may see a 7000-series Exynos and/or Snapdragon 660 chip used. Other features include USB Type-C with included Fast Charger, 3.5mm audio jack, and a Bixby button.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Star is set to go on sale in China and Taiwan soon. There are reports it is coming to other countries including Malaysia around the same time, possibly renamed as the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018).
