Xiaomi has announced its new MIUI 10 operating system. The new OS comes with a range of new features, many of which are designed to allow users to make full use of Xiaomi’s new phones and their accompanying display.
This includes a feature that maximises the screen space on a full-screen display, plus the ability to make gestures on them as well. MIUI 10 also now allows users to delete specific tasks by swiping either left of right, and the long press function now opens up additional options menus.
The highlight of MIUI 10, however, is Xiaomi’s new built-in AI digital assistant that can help the OS reduce load times on a Xiaomi phone. The algorithm studies a user’s behaviour and anticipates their most common actions.
The MIUI 10 digital assistant can also be used to controll other Xiaomi smart home devices. Something that covers an extensive number of appliances and gadgets, considering Xiaomi’s expansive ecosystem.
For the camera and selfie aficionados, the MIUI 10 AI is also able to add in a bokeh effect into a picture, be it through a phone’s rear or front-facing camera. Also, Xiaomi has said that this function will be available on both single and dual-camera Xiaomi smartphones.
MIUI 10 will first be available on the flagship Mi 8 that was also announced at the same event.
