It looks like the existence of the Intel Core i7-8086K processor isn’t a baseless rumour after all. Several retailers (non-local) have been spotted listing the new “anniversary edition” CPU on their respective websites. For those who may be out of the loop, the Core i7-8086K is a rather special CPU from Intel since it’ll commemorate the 40th anniversary of the historical 8086 microprocessor.
Unfortunately, there has been no mention of the confirmed specifications of Intel’s Core i7-8086K CPU on the listings. That said, sources do expect the processor to come with a frequency speed of 5GHz stock. In addition, this upcoming CPU is also heavily rumoured to be a six-core processor.
That said, the listings of the Core i7-8086K Anniversary Edition does contain pricing. According to PC Connection’s store, the aforementioned processor will be priced at US$480 (about RM1,908). It’s important to keep in mind, however, that this price may just be a placeholder – until Intel announces the actual MSRP.
Intel is rumoured to introduce the Core i7-8086K on June 5th, during the company’s Computex 2018 keynote. Regardless, we do urge our dear readers to take all of this with a grain of salt, at least until there’s an official announcement by the blue company.
