Built upon the foundation left by last year’s Nokia 2, HMD Global has announced the sequel to the phone which is called called Nokia 2.1. While it is still made for the budget market, the company stated that the 2018 model offers better performance, battery life, and more.
Equipped with 5.5-inch HD display, the Nokia 2.1 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor alongside 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. It also supports microSD card with storage space of up to 128GB.
Other than that, the Nokia 2.1 also comes with 8MP auto-focus rear camera and 5MP fixed-focus front selfie camera. Pre-installed with Android Oreo (Go Edition), battery life is one of the most touted characteristic for the phone which carries a 4000mAh battery and apparently able to last up to two days straight with just one charge.
Interestingly, HMD Global is also targeting the phone to entertainment lovers as well by equipping the Nokia 2.1 with front-facing stereo speakers. Price-wise, the new phone will be go for USD 115 (about RM 458) once it is released throughout the world starting from this July.
