Sony’s unusual Xperia Ear Duo wireless headset is set to arrive in Malaysia early next month. The design features something Sony is calling its Spatial Acoustic Conductor, and range of motion based controls.
According to the press release, the Spatial Acoustic Conductor creates sound behind the ear and transmits it directly into the ear canal. The design also allows for an open ear design to allow the wearer to be fully aware of ambient sounds.
There are also head gestures built into the system, allowing people to skip music tracks by shaking their heads left and right, or to answer calls by nodding. If that isn’t enough, a built in microphone also allows for the use of AI Assistants like the Google Assistant or Siri.
The Sony Xperia Ear Duo will arrive in Malaysia on 4 June for RM1199.
