More leaks of the Xiaomi Mi 8 have appeared just in time for the official launch on the 31st of May. Not only the notch is clear as day, an transparent glass back is also revealed. This might not be the first phone to show off the hardware beneath the surface, but it has take a few extra steps.
The phone looks to have a transparent smoky glass back, which allows the components of the phone to be seen. Xiaomi even took the effort to paint a chip with the Qualcomm logo. This may not be the Snapdragon 845 as the processor is traditionally placed under a heat-spreader to help in heat dissipation.
We can expect the Mi 8 to feature at least 6GB of RAM alongside the processor. Plus we may see an under-screen fingerprint scanner as there is no cut-out for the scanner at the back or the front of the phone.
The notch is said to accommodate the face recognition module, alongside the selfie camera.
Xiaomi is launching the phone on the 31st of May, so stay tuned as we get more information on Xiaomi’s 2018 flagship by then.
