Xiaomi has announced that it will debut the new MIUI 10 with the Xiaomi Mi 8 next week. Practically nothing has been shared at the moment, and all we have to go on at the moment is a simple teaser image posted to Weibo.
The Weibo image contains a phrase which translates to “I will be faster than lightning”, along with information about the Shenzen event. This may imply that MIUI 10 will bring a bump in the phone’s performance compared to older MIUI versions.
There is no doubt that the Xiaomi Mi 8 will be the first device to use the MIUI 10 out of the box, and that the MIUI 10 will be based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Additionally, XDA Developers believes that the new MIUI 10 will not be available on older Xiaomi phones. Being limited to devices on Android 5.0 Lollipop and later.
Xiaomi is set to launch the Mi 8 during its event on 31 May in Shenzen; which is when we will also be seeing more about MIUI 10.
