Acer’s powerful new gaming laptop, the Acer Predator Helios 500, will be coming to Malaysia very soon. Packing an eight generation Intel Core i9+ processor along with a 144Hz display, the Helios 500 is a well-equipped gaming laptop.
The Helios 500 is a 17.3-inch gaming powerhouse, and unlike the thin and light Acer Predator Triton 700, this is a large gaming laptop. There are two display options for the Helios 500: a fast 1080p 144Hz screen, or a sharper 4K panel. Naturally, this gaming laptop also supports Nvidia’s G-Sync technology.
Aside from that, the Helios 500 also comes with an Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU; no option for a more powerful GTX 1080 card. That being said, the GTX 1070 in the Helios 500 can be overclocked via the laptop’s PredatorSense app.
Other specifications of the Helios 500 include up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM, a huge 1TB SSD, 2TB of hard drive storage, and of course, an RGB keyboard. It also has a rather generous selection of ports, which include two Thunderbolt 3 connections, three USB-A slots, a DisplayPort, and a HDMI 2.0 port.
The Acer Predator Helios 500 is expected to be released here in Malaysia very, very soon. Unfortunately, local pricing for the gaming laptop has not been revealed yet, but it definitely won’t come cheap. As for the new Helios 300, Acer Malaysia currently has no plans to bring it in.
