An invite from Blackberry has confirmed both the name and the launch date for its new smartphone. The Blackberry KEY2 (or KEY2) is set to be unveiled in New York on 7 June, and will reintroduce the iconic QWERTY keyboard to the brand.
Using the tagline “An Icon Reborn”, the invite reveals little apart from the official time and location of the event. However, we have seen what the phone has on offer thanks to an earlier listing on TENAA.

As a recap, the Blackberry KEY2 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, 6GB RAM, a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1620 x 1080 pixels, and two 12MP cameras on the back. It also eschews the silver highlights, adopting a more professional black as its main colour. Everything will be powered by a 3360mAh battery.
The smaller battery is a concern; but if the battery performance of the KEYOne is any indication, we can expect a full-day battery performance from the new phone as well. Stay tuned for the official launch this coming June.
