Reports have emerged regarding Intel’s alleged plan to showcase its dedicated graphics card at CES 2019. TweakTown mentioned that Intel is currently reaching the final stages of development for the graphics card and will soon be preparing for the launch, possibly sometime during CES 2019. This comes as no surprise given Intel’s appointment of Raja Koduri from Radeon late last year.
Launching a dedicated graphics card, however, would mean that Intel will be directly competing with graphics solution giants like Nvidia and Radeon; both of whom are very familiar with the market and its demands. That said, there’s no word on whether Intel will aim its new dedicated graphics card towards general consumers or enterprise users – the latter being the more profitable option.
It’ll be very interesting to see the kind of technologies that Intel will bestow upon its new dedicated graphics card. Knowing Intel and its experience with microprocessors, consumers can expect the graphics card to come with respectable performance output and efficiency. Either way, we’re indeed very eager to see what Intel will be offering in 2019.
Regardless, we do advice our beloved readers to take this one with a grain of salt, as it only comes from one source so far. We’ll keep you posted should there be more updates to this rumour in the coming weeks.
