It’s been a while since the Huawei P20 Lite was launched in China – it’s marketed as the Nova 3E there – and it appears the mid-range smartphone is set to arrive here in Malaysia soon.
As usual, we were searching through SIRIM’s database when we saw a particularly interesting device with the model number ANE-LX2 registered under Huawei Malaysia and Zitron. Turns out, this is the P20 Lite, and it’s the higher-end 64GB model with 4GB of RAM.
In terms of hardware, the P20 Lite is a decidedly mid-range smartphone. It features a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display – with a notch at the top, of course – a Huawei Kirin 659 chipset, a microSD card slot, as well as a 3,000mAh battery.
Photography wise, the P20 Lite comes with a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera system, along with a 16MP front-facing shooter. Naturally, it also has a rear fingerprint sensor, support for face unlock, and EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
For now, it still remains to be seen when the Huawei P20 Lite will be launched in Malaysia – it may even be introduced here as the Nova 3E. Nonetheless, now that the device has been registered with SIRIM, we imagine it won’t be long until we hear from Huawei Malaysia.
