During a recent press briefing in Indonesia, ASUS has unveiled a brand-new smartphone called ZenFone Live L1. Just like the previously released ZenFone Live devices, the new model is still aimed at the lower mid-range market although the ZenFone Live L1 will mark the arrival of Full View display into the series.
Featuring a polycarbonate body and 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display, the phone is also equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor alongside 16GB internal storage and 3000mAh battery. It also comes standard with a 13MP PDAF rear camera and 5MP selfie camera with support for face unlock functionality.
In terms of memory, the ZenFone Live L1 can be obtained with either 1GB or 2GB of memory. Interestingly though, the 2GB variant of the phone comes with ZenUI 5.0 on top of its Android Oreo operating system while the 1GB model will feature Android Oreo Go Edition instead.
However, the availability of Android Go-based ZenFone Live L1 depends from one market to another. In fact, this 1GB variant itself will not be released in Indonesia despite being unveiled at the press briefing.
The new phone will be launched in Indonesia on 17 May alongside ZenFone 5 which was originally revealed at Mobile World Congress earlier this year. It is not yet known at the moment whether ASUS will bring ZenFone Live L1 over to Malaysia anytime soon but nevertheless, the opportunity to do so is already there.
