A leaked screenshot with the alleged specifications of the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S9 Active has appeared online. Carrying the model number SM-G893, we expect it to follow the trend of putting flagship level performance in a more rugged chassis.
The alleged spec sheet shows the phone to share similarities with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S9. This includes the Qualcomm Snapdraon 845, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, the same dual-camera with physical aperture and a 5.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels.
What differentiates the S9 Active with the standard S9 is the battery. For one, the S9 Active is said to receive a 4,000mAh battery instead of the 3,000mAh on the standard model.
No dates have been shared for the expected launch period; but as the previous S8 Active was launched sometime in the fourth quarter, we may see a similar launch timeframe. Sadly, we may not see this model come to Malaysia as traditionally the Active line is limited to US telcos.
