Lazada is celebrating six years in Malaysia, and is introducing a range of new mobile centric features. These include a new chat feature for contacting sellers, the Lazada Wallet, and offline QR code links.
New to the platform is a more personalised shopping experience; one that is powered by a new artificial intelligence platform. What it generally does is highlight select deals based on each user’s shopping history and app interactions. Ultimately, Lazada hopes that each app will become personalised to the immediately display items that each individual user may be interested in.
Also new is a chat feature to connect buyers and sellers. It’s currently in beta, and will only be available to a small number of merchants for now. Through the Chat Now feature, customers will be able to ask questions about products before making a purchase.
Shopping is also made easier with the option for customers to ‘follow’ favourite stores; receiving additional notifications on new arrivals and promotions. Offline stores are also given the option to provide QR codes for shoppers to scan and be linked to their Lazada store instead.
The Lazada 6th Birthday Festival is taking place 25 to 27 April 2018. It will offer up to 90% discounts on brands. Lazada partners – like CIMB, Petronas, or AirAsia – are also offering additional benefits for shopping through the online retailer.
