The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S may be an incremental upgrade, but it’s certainly appealing for those wanting for a better camera system on the original Mi Mix 2. If you’ve been eyeing to get it, good news – the Mi Mix 2S will likely land in Malaysia very soon.
Announced globally just a few weeks ago, we spotted the Mi Mix 2S with the model number M1803D5XA in SIRIM’s database. Registered under Xiaomi Malaysia, we reckon the company is preparing to launch the flagship device on our shores.
In comparison to its predecessor, the Mi Mix 2S comes with an upgraded dual-camera system. It now features two 12MP sensors – one with a wide-angle lens, and another with a telephoto lens. Coupled with a large 1.4 micron pixel size and dual-pixel autofocus system, the Mi Mix 2S promises much better camera performance.
Other specifications of the Mi Mix 2S include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, 5.99-inch 2160 x 1080 display, 5MP front-facing shooter, 3,400mAh battery, as well as support for Qi wireless charging.
We still haven’t heard of any local launch happening for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, but it’s very possible that Xiaomi Malaysia will launch the phone alongside the Redmi Note 5, which is set to be released here on 24 April next week.
