Unlike how it was in the past, not as many people jailbreak their iPhones anymore. This latest “PokeCall” tweak, however, may be worth the trouble of jailbreaking your iPhone despite Apple’s increased security measures. Basically, this tweak allows you to answer your calls with a classic Pokemon battle.
This tweak is developed by Reddit user FrozenPenguinToaster, and it’s currently still in the works for those who are on iOS 11. That being said, the developer did mention he will try to get it to work on iOS 10 devices as well.
Once a phone call comes in, the tweak will trigger an old-school Pokemon battle – complete with the iconic battle music. The trainer’s name will be replaced by whoever’s calling you, and you can even change the trainer’s sprite and what Pokemon he or she sends out. It’s really quite an interesting tweak.
Naturally, choosing to “fight” will accept the phone call, while picking “run” will decline it. This is still an early version of the tweak – FrozenPenguinToaster plans to make the the accept and decline buttons (as well as the caller ID) always visible in the final version.
Of course, if you do want to use this feature, you’ll have to jailbreak your iPhone. For the time being, the tweak is still in the works.
