TM has apparently added new unlimited options to unifi Mobile service. While these newly added offerings remind us immediately of its predecessor Webe, they are actually somehow quite different.
As discovered by SoyaCincau, the new unlimited options were not mentioned by TM on unifi Mobile’s website. Instead, they only appeared inside unifi Mobile’s app.
Users can opt to have the unlimited option for 2 hours at RM 3 or for full day at RM 5. Additionally, there’s also the weekly option which costs RM 20 but somehow, there is no monthly package.
Not only that, these unlimited options can only be used for LTE connection. In other words, unifi Mobile customers still have to use their 3G data pool when they are in areas without unifi Mobile’s LTE connection even though they have subscribed to any of these unlimited passes.
In many ways, this is indeed a rather odd way to deliver unlimited data to users. Then again, unifi Mobile was already known for doing things differently in the first place and we don’t expect that to stop anytime soon.
